Many PIs want to apply for more grants but are limited because it takes over a month to prepare a strong application. Below are some open calls if you want to apply for more grants this year. ERC Advanced GrantDeadline 28 Aug 2025Applicants from any field of research in a public or private research organization located in one of the EU Member States or associated countries. Advanced Grants also support the assembly of teams comprised of researchers of all nationalities, where it is also possible to have one or more team members located in a non-European country. An additional € 1 M can be made available to cover eligible “start-up†costs for researchers moving from a third country to the EU Established Professors
ERC Proof of ConceptDeadline 18 Sept 2025The ERC Proof of Concept Grant offers up to €150K over 18 months to PIs of ERC-funded frontier research (Starting, Consolidator, Advanced or Synergy grants) to validate and demonstrate the commercial or societal potential of their ideas. Open calls run twice yearly with a single-stage evaluation focusing solely on excellence. Apply by 18 Sept 2025 to boost your team's efforts and keep the results coming. Agora Public EngagementDeadline 16 Sept 2025The SNSF Agora call offers grants up to CHF 200,000 for collaborative teams of researchers and communication experts to engage diverse audiences in scientific dialogue through workshops, exhibitions, multimedia projects and more. DFG-Fraunhofer CoopSketch Deadline 09 Sept 2025DFG and Fraunhofer are funding trilateral transfer projects to bridge the gap between basic research and application. Projects include a university, a Fraunhofer institute, and an application partner, building on DFG-funded results (TRL 4+) to develop prototypes (TRL 6–7).
